Saudi Arabian Grand Prix History
The planning to host a Formula One race in Saudi Arabia began in 2019. After so much planning and hard work, Saudi Arabia managed to build a race track in Jeddah that utilized most of the street roads. Despite that, the track was built according to the standards of the Federation Internationale de Automobile (FIA). The first Saudi Arabian Grand Prix race was included in the 2021 Formula One schedule and was won by Lewis Hamilton. The following year, Saudi Arabia hosted its second Grand Prix race at the same venue, which was won by Mac Verstappen.
